ProjectSight revision management requires evidence of field use
Trimble presents ProjectSight for drawings, revisions, RFIs, submittals, photos, and mobile field access. A platform can identify the current drawing record, but the project still needs evidence that the right field audience received, understood, and worked from that revision before affected work proceeded.

Separate the current record from the field-use fact
Trimble's public ProjectSight record supports centralized drawings and revisions alongside RFIs, submittals, photos, and mobile field access. The direct answer is that a current or released revision in the platform establishes a document-control state, not the historical fact that a named crew used that revision for affected work. Availability, receipt, acknowledgement, comprehension, and use are different events.
The controlled drawing record should preserve project and drawing identifiers, sheet and discipline, revision and revision date, status, release time, issuer, approver under the project process, superseded version, change summary, linked RFI or submittal, distribution rule, and affected locations or work packages. The field-use record should separately show the intended recipients, access or acknowledgement evidence, questions, briefing or coordination where required, and the time-sensitive decision to proceed, hold, or rework.
Map revision impact to the work that can change
Not every revision has the same field consequence. A title-block correction, clarified note, dimension change, equipment substitution, structural detail, sequencing requirement, temporary-work change, or permit-related revision can affect different trades, locations, inspections, procurement decisions, and completed work. A general project distribution list can therefore be both noisy and incomplete.
For each material issue, identify the changed elements, reason, controlling design or contract record, affected scope, locations, trades, vendors, fabricated or delivered materials, open RFIs and submittals, inspections, planned activities, completed work, and responsible coordinator. The workflow should name who determines impact and who may release work. Document software can route evidence, but it does not become the designer, contractor, trade supervisor, inspector, or contract administrator.
Test offline, cached, and superseded conditions
A representative test should include a normal revision, a late design issue, a device that was offline, a cached PDF, a printed set, an external trade user, a revoked user, a renamed sheet, a revision issued during a shift, work spanning several locations, a revision that is later withdrawn, and a field question that reveals ambiguity. Reviewers should see which record becomes current and how affected people learn what changed.
Measure release-to-availability time, audience completeness, acknowledgement gaps, offline synchronization, stale-file visibility, printed-copy withdrawal, supersession behavior, notification evidence, linked-question handling, hold and resume authority, and the ability to reconstruct what each role could access before work. When a mismatch is found, preserve the discovery, affected work, assessment, instruction, inspection or test, correction, acceptance, and closeout rather than overwriting the distribution history.
Keep ProjectSight's claims inside the source boundary
The registered Trimble ProjectSight page establishes current provider positioning for drawing and revision management, RFIs, submittals, photos, field-to-office collaboration, mobile access, and plan-dependent construction-management functions. It does not establish a reader's approved document process, current field set, distribution completeness, acknowledgement, crew behavior, installed conformity, contractual notice, design correctness, or project outcome.
Contractor Systems Index reviewed the registered source on August 16, 2026 and did not operate a customer deployment. Buyers should verify edition and add-on boundaries, revision and release states, permissions, notifications, mobile and offline behavior, exports, retention, integrations, audit history, and field-use evidence with representative drawings, roles, devices, locations, and accountable design, document-control, project, trade, quality, and contract owners.
Enterprise buyer test
Translate this change into the exact population, record type, workflow stage, decision owner, effective date, and evidence that could be affected. Ask current or prospective providers to demonstrate the named workflow with representative data and an exception—not a polished feature tour. Record what official documentation establishes, what a provider states, what the team observes, and what remains unresolved.
A defensible review also identifies the dependency outside the product. Authority interpretation, policy configuration, data quality, integrations, human judgment, approval rights, release governance, training, and retained evidence may remain customer or service responsibilities. The evaluation should preserve those boundaries instead of treating a technology claim as the complete operating model.
What we will watch next
Contractor Systems Index will watch the named source and affected market records for later evidence that changes status, scope, availability, implementation timing, workflow consequence, or the limits of the initial report. A later announcement does not silently overwrite this dated account; the change ledger preserves the sequence.
